26 Nov Discover BODYPUMP HEAVY – the fun strength workout

The world-famous fitness programs Les Mills have something new for you!
We present to you the latest Les Mills program – BODYPUMP HEAVY.
If you’re looking for a workout that combines strength, muscle shaping, and a motivating group atmosphere, this class might become your new favorite.
The workout focuses on controlled tempo and weight training that boosts metabolism and supports building lean muscle mass. It uses classic strength exercises that develop physical power, improve your form, and lead to real, measurable results.
What makes BODYPUMP HEAVY special?
The main idea behind this format is the tempo. Movements are performed more slowly, with longer rest periods between sets. This allows you to focus on proper technique and stable form.
The workout includes fundamental exercises such as squats, deadlifts, push-ups, and more, using a barbell and adjustable weights.
How is BODYPUMP HEAVY different?
Classic BODYPUMP focuses on muscular endurance – high repetitions, dynamic pace, and minimal breaks. This approach creates the well-known Rep Effect.
BODYPUMP HEAVY uses a different principle – slower, more controlled movements, heavier weights, and enough time to recover. This allows you to work more effectively with resistance, improve your technique, and progress in strength.
The format is designed so you can get maximum benefit from every rep, without having to follow a fast rhythm or short rest periods.
Who is BODYPUMP HEAVY suitable for?
The short answer – everyone.
Beginners can start with minimal weights and learn to perform the exercises correctly without rushing. Thanks to the slower movement tempo, the instructor has more opportunity to monitor your form and give guidance.
Intermediate and advanced participants, as well as those who already train BodyPump or lift weights, can use the Heavy format to overcome plateaus, increase intensity, and build more strength.
Helpful tips before your first workout:
- Choose comfortable clothes and stable shoes suitable for strength exercises.
- Start with lighter weights – the first sessions are for technique, not for records.
- Don’t skip the breaks – recovery is a key part of the program.
- Listen to the instructor to maintain proper form and avoid injuries.
- Be consistent – strength develops gradually, but results come with regular practice.
